About Us

Stonecraft Limited, incorporated in 1987 on the Isle of Man, is a family managed company, that operates in the construction industry and specialises primarily in the supply and fit of stone products. Stonecraft now employs 3rd generation stonemasons and has access to over a century’s worth of combined experience of working with stone.

The roots of our company lie many years before incorporation, where we specialised in hand crafting and fitting fireplaces. Over the years, our family became the largest importers of Maltese stone, known for its excellent workability characteristics, ideal for statues, balustrade and fire & cooker surrounds. At various stages, Stonecraft has held registration with ISO2001 and the NHBC.

More recently, over the past decade Stonecraft has been involved on all levels with various building projects, from investing in land and building several homes to hard landscaping, driveways and stone staircases. A full catalogue of works can be viewed in our photo album.

Management & Staff

Father and son, Neil and Julian Cheetham are the managing directors of Stonecraft. Several full time staff are employed, and many more are part time or subcontracted during busier periods of work.

Neil was introduced to the industry at an early age in the 1970s by his father, Mel Cheetham. He began trading under the name Neil Cheetham & Co Limited in 1987, but later changed to Stonecraft Limited in 1991. Early on in his career, while working within the industry, he graduated with a theology degree from Mattersey College, Bawtry. Since, he has gained a wide knowledge base in stone, construction and development through hands on experience as a stone mason, a subcontracted project manager on multiple projects totalling multi millions in value, and through his own building projects undertaken by Stonecraft Ltd. during this period,

Julian, also introduced to the industry at an early age by his father, Neil, was first officially employed part time by Stonecraft in the late 1990s while accumulating 9 GCSEs and 4 A levels, including maths and physics, at Castle Rushen High School. After graduating from the International Business School with a 2.1 BA  in Business Management, Julian began exploring options within the finance industry, ultimately accepting a full time position with Stonecraft as a director, operating in all areas of the business.
